We did a larch update. Now the support for Power over Ethernet (PoE) at 60 and 90 watts, known as IEEE 802.3bt is added to all Larch Networks devices. The devices have been already tested and delivered to customers and are available for order on our website in the Larch Networks hardware section.
The enabling of 60 and 90 watts PoE provides higher power capacity compared to the standard 15 and 30 watts. While devices with 15 and 30 watts are typically used for connecting simple cctv cameras or office devices the 60 and 90-watt devices can support the connection of more power consuming devices, such as daisy-chained switches. In this setup, the next device in the chain receives 90 watts and can transmit them further.
The 60 & 90 watts PoE devices can also be installed in office spaces to create smart LED lighting systems, provide power to high power pan tilt zoom cameras, media converters or to a wide range of IoT devices for building automation.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Larch – we are ready to assist you in both selecting switches and implementing them.
