Larch Networks completed the SONiC integration

Larch Networks has completed NOS SONiC integration and offers the Campus LAN Access and Aggregation Switch that supports the Telecom Infra Project OpenLAN Switching. The SAI API implementation has been adopted for SONIC software stack operation for Marvell silicon.

Today, wired and wireless Internet access services mass deployment faces serious issue – the lack of a single common system for managing client access facilities. Each vendor has their own proprietary system, and managing all is a challenge given the massive adoption.

Telecom Infra Project https://telecominfraproject.com is engaged in standardization and certification of disaggregated WiFi and Wired access solutions and, most importantly, drive Open Source Management Solution standardization across community. NOS Sonic is an Open Source NOS that can be used in this paradigm.

Larch Networks has completed NOS SONiC integration and offers the Campus LAN Access and Aggregation Switch that supports the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) OpenLAN Switching (OLS). The SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface) API implementation has been adopted for SONIC software stack operation for Marvell silicon.

Integration with the NOS SONiC is focused on supporting OpenLAN Switching compatibility. Completed Integration of SONIC with third party Open Source Network Management stacks by integration uCentral open O&M interface and TIP PKI infrastructure.

In addition to standard NOS SONIC features are supported:

  • PoE management – IEEE 802.3af, IEEE 802.3at, IEEE 802.3bt
  • MAC Security (MACsec) – 802.1AE

With Larch Networks OLS, IT professionals can enjoy a cost effective and differentiated switching solution and support OpenWiFi with one common Open Source O&M solution.
